BTS And SEVENTEEN Earn Double Platinum RIAJ Certifications In Japan + Stray Kids Goes Gold
The Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) has announced its latest batch of official certifications!
BTS’s new Korean anthology album “Proof” received an official double platinum certification for over 500,000 units shipped in Japan in the first month of its release. (According to the RIAJ’s certification thresholds, albums are certified gold at 100,000 units shipped and platinum at 250,000.)
Meanwhile, SEVENTEEN’s latest Korean studio album “Face the Sun” also earned an official double platinum certification for over 500,000 units shipped. Notably, the distinction marks SEVENTEEN’s first time going double platinum in Japan with an album as opposed to a single: the group previously earned double platinum certifications for their Japanese single albums “Fallin’ Flower” and “Not Alone,” but “Face the Sun” is their first album to be certified double platinum.
Finally, Stray Kids’ new Japanese mini album “CIRCUS” received an official gold certification for over 100,000 units shipped in less than a month.
Congratulations to BTS, SEVENTEEN, and Stray Kids!
