7 Reasons To Get Hyped Up For J-Hope's Official Solo Debut
BTS member J-Hope’s official solo debut is fast approaching, and there is so much to be excited about! Titled “Jack In The Box,” the album is set to drop on July 15. Mark your calendars – you won’t want to miss it! In case you need any more reasons to start counting down the days, here are seven.
1. His lead single “MORE”
The lead single from the album titled “MORE” was released on July 1. While the teasers hinted at some darker vibes from the “Hope World” artist, “MORE” was totally unexpected! With its grungy, emo aesthetic and slightly punk-rock sound, it’s a total departure from J-Hope’s usual work – and I’m totally here for it!
2. He’s the first BTS member to get an official solo debut
While the BTS members have released several mixtapes, OSTs, and even their own tracks on other BTS albums (such as “Outro : Ego” from their “MAP OF THE SOUL” series), J-Hope is the first to get a full solo debut. That means printed albums, performances, and more to look forward to!
3. He’s going to be headlining Lollapalooza
It was announced that J-Hope will be headlining the annual music festival Lollapalooza later this month, meaning that “Jack In The Box” is coming out just in time for live performances! He really knows how to put on a performance (as evidenced by this “Trivia 起 : Just Dance” stage), so viewers are in for a treat!

4. There are 10 tracks on “Jack In The Box”
“Jack In The Box” is definitely a full album – there are 10 (yes, 10) tracks! That means there’s a lot of room for J-Hope to explore his own sound as a soloist and a lot for fans to enjoy as they listen to the extended track list. If the rest of the album is anything like “MORE,” it’ll be 10 songs’ worth of bangers!
5. J-Hope is a self-producing artist
In addition to being a fantastic singer, rapper, and dancer, J-Hope is also an amazing producer! He was the executive producer on his last mixtape “Hope World,” and he had a hand in the lyrics and production for every song on the album. It will be exciting for fans to see how his sound and story have evolved as an artist through his own music!
6. Music video artistry
J-Hope also played a huge role when it came to the production of the music video for “MORE,” giving fans an even better perspective for his artistry and creative process. With the help of directors, cameramen, designers, the BTS members, and more, he brought his vision to life. Hopefully he has more amazing music videos for “Jack In The Box” in store!
7. More J-Hope content
In case you’re a new fan, this vlog from 2019 is a short but great intro to his bright, sunny personality. From funny jokes to practice shots and food videos, this vlog has it all – and hopefully, there will be a lot more content for J-Hope fans to look forward to as the “Jack In The Box” promotions get going!
