Penned by the famous screenwriting duo known as the Hong Sisters, “Alchemy of Souls” is a fantasy romance drama set in the fictional nation of Daeho, a country that does not exist in history or on maps. Spoilers
Previously, while Jang Wook (Lee Jae Wook) was chasing after Jin Moo’s (Jo Jae Yoon‘s) subordinate Gil Joo (Choi Ji Ho), he discovered that the royal family was in possession of the ice stone, which is used in the alchemy of souls and brought Daeho to ruins approximately 200 years ago. Jang Wook promised his teacher Mu Deok (Jung So Min) to climb the ranks so that he can bring her the ice stone.
In his rematch with the crown prince Go Won (Shin Seung Ho), Jang Wook succeeded in attacking with a drop of Mu Deok’s blood. Surprising everyone in Daeho, Jang Wook received many great offers from sorcerers but eventually decided on joining Songrim’s learning institution Jeongjingak.
In the newly released stills, Mu Deok is adjusting Jang Wook’s robes. Jang Wook is wearing the clothes of a Songrim sorcerer, and his dignified appearance hints that he will be entering Jeongjingak that day.
Since Mu Deok and Jang Wook are alone together, Jang Wook can’t hold back his emotions as he brings Mu Deok into a tight embrace. He continues to give Mu Deok a heated gaze, while Mu Deok looks forlorn from having to say farewell to Jang Wook. The heart-fluttering stills build anticipation for what will happen to these two during Jang Wook’s initiation day.
The production team shared, “In this week’s broadcast, disciple Jang Wook’s straightforward actions will make viewers feel great heart-fluttering excitement,” asking viewers to anticipate the upcoming episodes in which Jang Wook’s and Mu Deok’s feelings for each other will continue to grow.
The next episode of “Alchemy of Souls” airs on July 16 at 9:10 p.m. KST.
