Kim Min Jae And Kim Hyang Gi Have An Unusual 1st Encounter In "Poong, The Joseon Psychiatrist"

Kim Min Jae and Kim Hyang Gi will have a very memorable first meeting in the new drama “Poong, The Joseon Psychiatrist”!

Based off a novel of the same name, “Poong, The Joseon Psychiatrist” depicts the story of Yoo Se Poong (Kim Min Jae), a well-known internal medicine doctor who gets expelled from the royal court after being caught up in a conspiracy. Afterwards, he meets Seo Eun Woo (Kim Hyang Gi) and Gye Ji Han (Kim Sang Kyung) in the strange and beautiful Gyesu village and works to become a true doctor who heals the heart.

With anticipation increasing for Yoo Se Poong and Seo Eun Woo’s chemistry as a team that will heal hearts together, the drama shared new stills to get the drama fans more pumped up than ever. The photos hint that the two characters will have a not-so-average encounter. Yoo Se Poong is a star doctor who is famous for his skills, but his empty eyes share that something tragic has happened to him. Seo Eun Woo discovers Yoo Se Poong heading towards a cliff, and her eyes grow wide with shock. Despite the danger, she throws herself to save him, and they make close eye contact. In the final photo, Yoo Se Poong looks disheartened, but Seo Eun Woo gazes at him with firm, sparkling eyes that seem to convey why he should carry on with his life.

Kim Min Jae described the relationship between the two characters as “polar.” He explained, “They give hope to each other when they become emotionally lost.” Kim Hyang Gi shared, “They give each other strength so that they can look at the world in a more loving light.”

“Poong, The Joseon Psychiatrist” premieres on August 1 at 10:30 p.m. KST and will be available with subtitles on Viki! Check out a teaser here!
