Watch: JYP And Republic Records Announce America2Korea + Audition Dates For New Global Super Group

JYP Entertainment and Republic Records have officially announced their upcoming joint project!

JYP and Republic Records – one of the United States’ biggest labels – are launching America2Korea (A2K), a search for rising talent in the U.S. and Canada to compete and join an upcoming global girl group.

On July 25, JYP Entertainment uploaded an official A2K announcement video where founder and chairman Park Jin Young talked about the upcoming project with Republic Records’ founder and CEO Monte Lipman.

The super group formed through A2K will be the first American artist made from the system of K-pop. A2K will hold local auditions with Park Jin Young in attendance in five cities across the U.S., including Atlanta (September 10), Chicago (September 14), New York (September 17 and 18), Dallas (September 20) and Los Angeles (September 23 to 25).

Those who pass will be invited to Los Angeles where participants will be finalized. Semi-finalists will then train at JYP Entertainment in Korea with top executives, choreographers, and producers. The final members chosen for this global girl group will debut in the United States and will partner with both JYP Entertainment and Republic Records for all music releases.

JYP Entertainment and Republic Records kicked off their strategic partnership in February 2020, with TWICE being the first artist involved. Earlier this year, JYP expanded this partnership to include their groups Stray Kids and ITZY.
