aespa's 'Girls' Becomes Their 1st Album To Chart For 2 Consecutive Weeks On Billboard 200

aespa has just achieved a career first on the Billboard 200!

Last week, aespa made history by becoming the fastest female K-pop artist to enter the top 3 of Billboard’s Top 200 Albums chart less than two years after their debut. The group’s second mini album “Girls” debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, making it only the third album by a female K-pop artist ever to chart within the top 3.

On July 26 local time, Billboard revealed that “Girls” had successfully remained on the Billboard 200 for its second week in a row. For the week ending on July 30, “Girls” stayed strong at No. 67, making it aespa’s first album to spend two consecutive weeks on the chart.

While aespa’s first mini album “Savage” also spent two weeks on the Billboard 200 last year, they were non-consecutive (meaning the album dropped off the chart after one week, then re-entered it later on).

aespa has now become only the fourth K-pop girl group in history to chart an album for two consecutive weeks on the Billboard 200, following BLACKPINK, TWICE, and ITZY.

“Girls” also continued to rank high on several other Billboard charts this week: the mini album swept the No. 4 spot on both the Top Album Sales chart and the Top Current Album Sales chart, in addition to taking No. 5 on the World Albums chart (after debuting at No. 1 on all three charts last week).

Finally, aespa stayed strong at No. 47 on Billboard’s Artist 100, while their new title track “Girls” came in at No. 64 on Billboard’s Global Excl. U.S. chart and No. 110 on the Global 200.

Congratulations to aespa!
