aespa's "Girls" Remains No. 1; Soompi's K-Pop Music Chart 2022, July Week 5
aespa’s “Girls” repeats as the No. 1 song this week with another high score. Congratulations to aespa!
IVE’s “LOVE DIVE” moves back up two spots to No. 2. Rounding out the all-female top three this week is Nayeon’s “POP!” which drops one spot to No. 3.
Five songs newly entered the top 10 this week.
Debuting at No. 4 is SEVENTEEN’s “_WORLD,” the title track from their fourth repackaged album “SECTOR 17.” The urban R&B song conveys the meaning of keeping possibilities open to interpret the world from various perspectives as well as showcasing a new world to one’s love at first sight.
Moving up 15 spots to No. 5 is ITZY’s “SNEAKERS,” the title track from their mini album “CHECKMATE.” This dance track is about following one’s heart instead of paying attention to what others say.
Debuting at No. 7 is STAYC’s “BEAUTIFUL MONSTER,” which is the title track from STAYC’s third single album “WE NEED LOVE.” The pop dance song compares love to a “BEAUTIFUL MONSTER” as it can cause both pain and comfort.
Following the success of male project group MSG WANNABE last year, MBC’s “How Do You Play?” debuted the female project group WSG WANNABE this year. WSG WANNABE consists of 12 members split into three sub-units, and two of them entered the top 10 this week.
Moving up nine spots to No. 6 is Gaya-G’s “At That Moment.” Gaya-G is made up of SeeYa’s Lee Boram, LABOUM’s Soyeon, HYNN, and actress Jung Ji So. “At That Moment” is a medium tempo ballad track that captures the emotions of the past.
WSG WANNABE sub-unit 4FIRE, which includes Navi, SOLE, Uhm Ji Yoon, and Kwon Jin Ah, moves up two spots to No. 10 with “I Missed You.” A mesh of country, reggae, and R&B, the song imagines the moment of reuniting with someone that you really miss.
