8 Girl Group Rappers Confirmed For JTBC Vocal Competition Program
Girl group rappers will be showing off their vocal chops on a new variety show!
“Second World” (literal title) is a survival program in which skillful girl group rappers compete fiercely in a singing competition. The idol rappers will break the prejudice that they lack singing skills, boast their vocal skills to the fullest, and unfold their second world as all-round artists.
The eight rappers who will be participating are former Wonder Girls member Yubin, former AOA member Shin Jimin, MAMAMOO’s Moonbyul, Oh My Girl’s Mimi, WJSN’s Exy, MOMOLAND’s JooE, Billlie’s Moon Sua, and CLASS:y’s Kim Seonyou.
Chart-topping singer Paul Kim will lead “Second World” as the “guide.” In addition, strong vocalists including Kim Bum Soo, Jung Yup, Apink’s Jung Eun Ji, BTOB’s Eunkwang, and MeloMance’s Kim Min Seok will participate as judges called “Voice Readers.”
The program’s production team remarked, “There are not many opportunities for rappers to sing, which is why I think many people are looking forward to ‘Second World.’ Each of the eight participants has a distinctive and attractive voice. In particular, their vocal skills are beyond expectations. We hope that people will join their journey to see which of the rappers will be recognized as an all-around artist and selected as the best in this fierce competition.”
“Second World” premieres on August 30 at 8:50 p.m. KST via JTBC.
