Watch: Park Eun Bin And Kang Tae Oh Can't Stop Laughing While Rehearsing Their Back Hug For "Extraordinary Attorney Woo"
ENA’s “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” has shared a fun new glimpse behind the scenes of filming!
“Extraordinary Attorney Woo” tells the story of Woo Young Woo, a young lawyer with Asperger’s syndrome who joins a major law firm (played by Park Eun Bin). Due to her high IQ of 164, impressive memory, and creative thought process, the brilliant Woo Young Woo graduates at the top of her class from the prestigious Seoul National University for both college and law school—but she still finds herself struggling when it comes to social interactions.
The new making-of video begins with Park Eun Bin, Kang Tae Oh, and Ha Yoon Kyung rehearsing the scene in which they use salt and pepper shakers as personified stand-ins for real people during their conversation. After the soy sauce bottle becomes a stand-in for Woo Young Woo, Ha Yun Kyung adorably begins treating “Attorney Soy Sauce” with special affection, even going so far as to lovingly pat its head.

In the next scene, Kang Tae Oh’s character Lee Jun Ho calms Woo Young Woo down after they witness the fatal car crash from Episode 11. Park Eun Bin suggests that Kang Tae Oh grab her hands to stop her from hitting her own head, but he has a hard time holding her hands down in a way that doesn’t look like he’s physically fighting her. When the director suggests that Kang Tae Oh grab her hands with one hand and then wrap his other arm around her shoulder, Park Eun Bin remarks with a laugh, “It looks like you’re arresting him!”
In the end, they decide to go with Kang Tae Oh hugging Park Eun Bin from behind, but the two actors struggle not to laugh as what needs to look like a caring embrace proves harder to pull off than expected. When Park Eun Bin takes the lead and demonstrates how to hold her, Kang Tae Oh asks, “Didn’t I just do it like that?” Park Eun Bin then cracks him up by saying, “No, you’re doing it like this,” and grabbing him much more forcefully.
Kang Tae Oh finally concludes, “Ah, this scene is hard. It could easily be misunderstood [as restraining her instead of holding her].”
After the two stars successfully film the difficult scene, they move on to another emotional confrontation: the moment when Lee Jun Ho is shocked to learn that Woo Young Woo doesn’t think they’ve been dating. As they run through their lines together, the director asks Kang Tae Oh to act even more surprised at the beginning, noting that if he doesn’t, it might look as though his character is angry.
The clip ends with footage of Park Eun Bin unable to stop giggling during a take, leading her to declare with a laugh, “I’ll do it one more time.”
