ATEEZ's Agency Takes Legal Action Against YouTuber Behind Malicious Video
KQ Entertainment has taken legal action in response to a malicious video posted about ATEEZ.
On August 17, the agency released the following statement on the group’s fan cafe:
Hello.
This is KQ Entertainment.
The agency and our artist ATEEZ filed a criminal complaint with an investigative unit yesterday (August 16) in response to a YouTuber who recently posted a malicious video on grounds such as violating the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection (defamation), insult, obstruction of business, and copyright infringement. All related evidence has been submitted.
Moreover, we judged that this was an especially malicious case because the YouTuber produced a video presenting falsehoods as the truth and was using it for personal monetary gain. Since this is an act of misdirecting the fans’ love and support for ATEEZ, we decided on a strong legal response.
We strongly urge any of those who have written baseless allegations or malicious posts regarding the agency or the agency’s artists to at least delete the posts now, and we would like to inform you that there will be no leniency or settlements in future punishments.
We will continue to protect our artist’s rights going forward. Please forward related reports and evidence to the listed email address.
Thank you.
