Bae Hyun Sung Reflects On How Much He's Grown, Shares What Kind Of Actor He Wants To Become, And More

Dazed magazine’s new issue features Bae Hyun Sung!

After his first photo shoot with Dazed in three years, the interviewer mentioned that the actor had matured a lot since then. Bae Hyun Sung replied, “I think that was when I had just turned 20 by international reckoning. As time went by, I inevitably lost weight in my face and my contour lines have settled so I think that’s why [I look more mature].” Laughing, he added, “I’m also exercising diligently.”

Bae Hyun Sung also reflected on his many works over the past three years, sharing, “After wrapping up ‘Our Blues,’ I’m currently filming the drama ‘Gaus Electronics‘ [literal title]. Before that, I filmed ‘Hospital Playlist.’ I was quite busy.”

He continued, “Through the YouTube channel that my agency manages, I occasionally greet my fans. I read the comments often too and my fans leave such nice words so I gain strength whenever I see them.”

As Bae Hyun Sung continues to build his career, he was asked what kind of actor he wants to become. He answered, “I like the saying ‘an actor you trust and watch.’ An actor who you go to watch out of endless trust, no matter what kind of project they say they’re doing. An actor who makes you wonder what kind of acting they will portray this time,” adding a laugh.

Bae Hyun Sung commented, “While looking at a lot of my seniors, I thought I wanted to become like them too. I’m currently working to make myself as a person a genre of itself and become an actor who makes viewers fall in deeper.”
