Seo Min Jae Retracts Allegations Against Boyfriend Nam Tae Hyun After Police Open Investigations + He Responds

A day after making allegations of physical abuse and drug use against her boyfriend Nam Tae Hyun, Seo Min Jae has released an apology stating that her previous allegations were untrue.

On August 20, “Heart Signal 3” cast member Seo Min Jae posted a photo of herself and former WINNER member Nam Tae Hyun on Instagram with the caption, “Nam Tae Hyun does philopon [meth]. And I have the needle he used either in my room or my office cabinet. And he hits me.”

Although she went on to delete the post soon afterwards, the Seoul Yongsan Police Station announced on August 21 that they had begun investigating the allegations against Nam Tae Hyun. “We don’t have a concrete schedule [for our investigations],” said a spokesperson for the police. “We are investigating in order to ascertain the facts before making an indictment.”

However, on the evening of August 21, Seo Min Jae returned to Instagram to make a statement retracting her former allegations. She explained that she had been under the influence of drugs prescribed by a psychiatrist while writing her initial post and that she had made false claims due to a fight with her boyfriend Nam Tae Hyun, whom she was still dating. She went on to add that they had since made up.

Hello, this is Seo Min Jae.

I’m writing this statement to talk about what happened yesterday.

First, I had a fight with my boyfriend yesterday due to both of our wrongdoings. At the time, due to stress, I took more than the prescribed dose of a psychiatric drug, so I lost control of my senses to the extent where I still can’t remember exactly what happened. As a result, I uploaded a post that was unrelated to the truth, and I also hurt myself by mistake, so I am currently in the hospital. I ended up posting this statement late because I was receiving treatment.

Also, we made up.

I’m truly sorry for having given many people cause for concern.

Shortly afterwards, Nam Tae Hyun took to Instagram to post his own statement regarding the situation:

Hello. This is Nam Tae Hyun.

I apologize to the people who must have been shocked by yesterday’s incident..

It was a fight between lovers, but we have since made up.

I sincerely apologize for giving so many people cause for concern due to a personal matter.
