IVE's Gaeul On Her Reaction To The Massive Success Of "LOVE DIVE," The Message Of "After LIKE," And More

In a recent interview and pictorial for Elle Korea magazine, IVE’s Gaeul dished on the group’s latest comeback and more!

Gaeul posed for her first-ever solo pictorial for the magazine’s September issue, and she confessed that she had been a bundle of nerves at the beginning of the shoot.

“I was nervous when I arrived on set, because I was worried about what I needed to do in order to do a good job,” said Gaeul. “But thanks to many people complimenting me on set, I was able to gain confidence and wrap up the shoot without any problems.”

Earlier this week, IVE made their highly-anticipated comeback with their third single album “After LIKE” and its title track of the same name. Introducing the catchy new dance song, Gaeul commented, “‘After LIKE’ has the message: ‘Don’t hesitate, just like me!'”

When asked whether there was anything in particular she wanted to show through the new song, Gaeul shared, “This is the first time that I have a rap in one of our title tracks, instead of a B-side. I really wanted to pull off the rap part while recording, so please enjoy listening to my rap!”

Earlier this year, IVE achieved incredible success with their smash hit “LOVE DIVE,” which dominated the Korean music charts for months, racked up 10 music show wins, and surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify.

Sharing her reaction to the record-breaking success of the song, Gaeul humbly remarked, “I feel both grateful and shocked at the same time. Now, I’ve moved beyond feeling surprised and am thinking of ways to improve and repay [this love] in the future.”
