Apink's Jung Eun Ji Is A Whistleblower Whose Life Is In Danger In New Drama With 2PM's Taecyeon
tvN’s upcoming drama “Blind” has unveiled its first stills of Apink’s Jung Eun Ji in character!
“Blind” is a new mystery thriller about ordinary people who unfairly become victims of crime—and ordinary people who inadvertently become perpetrators by turning a blind eye to justice. 2PM’s Taecyeon will star as Ryu Sung Joon, a detective in the violent crimes unit who is passionate about his work, while Ha Seok Jin will play his older brother Ryu Sung Hoon, a genius judge who tries to remain as cold and logical as possible when making judgments.
Jung Eun Ji will star in the drama as Jo Eun Ki, a social worker who has faced all sorts of trials in her life and is no longer easily shocked or fazed by most things. As someone who cares deeply about helping children and believes in doing the right thing, Jo Eun Ki has reported numerous cases of embezzlement by the various centers at which she’s worked over the years, earning her a reputation as a “professional whistle blower.” Due to her notoriety in the field, she now finds it difficult to hold down a job in one place.
One day, Jo Eun Ki’s life takes an unexpected turn when she ends up becoming a juror in a serial murder case that entangles her with both detective Ryu Sung Joon and judge Ryu Sung Hoon. After the end of the trial, a serial killer begins to target the jurors from the trial one by one, putting Jo Eun Ki’s life in danger. In order to uncover the truth behind the murders of the jurors, Jo Eun Ki ends up joining forces with Ryu Sung Joon and Ryu Sung Hoon in their investigations.
However, even as she faces life-threatening danger due to her involvement in the trial, Jo Eun Ki is still as busy as ever with her day job protecting children. One newly released photo from the drama captures Jo Eun Ki looking surprised as she suddenly receives alarming news through an unexpected phone call, while another shows the social worker desperately searching for a child in a street teeming with nightlife.
The producers of “Blind” commented, “Actress Jung Eun Ji’s solid, steadfast nature matches perfectly with the character of Jo Eun Ki, who is overflowing with passion for justice.”
They went on to tease, “Please look forward to Jung Eun Ji’s acting transformation and seeing how she portrays the upright core of a character who shines like pebbles that have just been passed over by the tide.”
“Blind” will premiere on September 16 at 10:40 p.m. KST. Check out a teaser for the drama here!
