Kim Go Eun's "Little Women" Premieres To No. 1 Ratings As "Big Mouth" Soars To New All-Time High
tvN’s new drama “Little Women” kicked off its run at the top of its time slot!
“Little Women” tells the story of three sisters with a close bond who grew up in poverty (played by Kim Go Eun, Nam Ji Hyun, and Park Ji Hu). When they get swept up in a major incident, they are catapulted into a new world of money and power that is unlike anything they’ve known before—and wind up facing off against the wealthiest family in the nation.
On September 3, “Little Women” made a promising start as it premiered to higher viewership ratings than its predecessor “Alchemy of Souls,” the drama that previously aired in its time slot. According to Nielsen Korea, the first episode of “Little Women” scored an average nationwide rating of 6.4 percent, taking first place in its time slot across all cable channels. (For comparison, “Alchemy of Souls” initially premiered to a nationwide average of 5.2 percent in June.)
Meanwhile, MBC’s “Big Mouth” soared to new heights as it achieved the highest ratings of its run to date. The popular noir drama remained first place in its time slot with an average nationwide rating of 12.0 percent—and it was also the most-watched show of the entire night among viewers ages 20 to 49, with whom it scored an average rating of 4.5 percent.
Despite facing stiff competition from “Big Mouth,” which airs in the same time slot, SBS’s “Today’s Webtoon” held relatively steady with an average nationwide rating of 2.0 percent for its latest episode.
JTBC’s “The Good Detective 2” also remained stable with an average nationwide rating of 5.5 percent, while TV Chosun’s “Becoming Witch” rose slightly to an average rating of 1.3 percent.
Finally, KBS 2TV’s “It’s Beautiful Now” scored a nationwide average of 26.8 percent, marking its highest viewership ratings to date for a Saturday (when its ratings are typically lower compared to Sundays).
