Lee Yoo Mi Becomes First Korean Actress To Win Guest Actress At The Creative Arts Emmys + "Squid Game" Crew Snags 3 Awards
“Squid Game” is making history at the 2022 Emmy Awards!
On September 4 (local time), the 74th Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards took place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
Lee Yoo Mi became the first Korean actress to win the award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for her appearance in the episode “Gganbu.” The other nominees for this category were Hope Davis (“Succession”), Marcia Gay Harden (“The Morning Show”), Martha Kelly (“Euphoria”), Sanaa Lathan (“Succession”), and Harriet Walter (“Succession”).
During her acceptance, the actress shared, “I’m so grateful. Thank you so much for giving me such a great award. I’m grateful to the Emmy Awards, and I love Netflix, who is always by my side, and I also love my agency VARO Entertainment. I’m so very happy! Thank you again.”

After receiving the award, Lee Yoo Mi also shared, “I’m so happy, and I honestly can’t believe it. I can’t wait to tell my close friends and brag to them. Thank you so much!” The actress also shared that the brightly smiling emoji best describes her current feelings, and she added that she will put her new trophy where she can see it the best.

Furthermore, “Squid Game” landed the awards for Outstanding Special Visual Effects in a Single Episode, Outstanding Stunt Performance, and Outstanding Production Design for a Narrative Contemporary Program (One Hour or More).

The 74th Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards honors the best artists and technical achievement in television and precedes the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards, which will take place on September 12 and highlight the cast and production team. “Squid Game” has six more nominations for the upcoming Primetime Emmy Awards including Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series, Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series, Lead Actor in a Drama Series (Lee Jung Jae), Supporting Actress in a Drama Series (Jung Ho Yeon), and Supporting Actor in a Drama Series (Park Hae Soo, Oh Young Soo).
