Mingyu Reflects On "BE THE SUN" Tour, Moments He Realizes SEVENTEEN's Success, And More
SEVENTEEN’s Mingyu radiates confidence in his new pictorial for ELLE Korea!
The artist teamed up with Louis Vuitton for the cover of the magazine’s October issue, in which he also reflected on the group’s past year of activities. On September 19, ELLE Korea released the cover photos along with a portion of the interview!
2022 was another big year for SEVENTEEN. They held their “BE THE SUN” world tour, hitting up cities across Asia and North America. Regarding the tour, Mingyu commented, “It was the best concert. Compared to the tour we held three years ago in 2019, I felt that the local audiences had grown. All the members genuinely enjoy being on stage.”
2021 was also a big year for the group as all 13 members renewed their contracts with Pledis Entertainment. At the end of 2021, SEVENTEEN had the honor of performing the last song at the Asia Artist Awards (AAA). On this, Mingyu stated, “A lot of junior artists clapped for us despite the situation being that they had to turn on a pre-recorded performance of ours. I was grateful and proud. SEVENTEEN needs to keep pushing forward.”
Mingyu took some time to reflect on his individual take on the group’s journey as well. When it comes to feeling the extent of SEVENTEEN’s success, he said, “I don’t really feel it in my day to day life. I feel it when I hear the cheering at concerts or when I’m on stage.”
