BLACKPINK Becomes 1st K-Pop Girl Group Ever To Top UK's Official Albums Chart With "BORN PINK"
BLACKPINK has just achieved a historic feat in the United Kingdom!
On September 23 local time, the United Kingdom’s Official Charts (typically regarded as the U.K. equivalent to Billboard’s U.S. charts) announced that BLACKPINK’s latest album “BORN PINK” had debuted at No. 1 on the Official Albums Chart.
With this new entry, BLACKPINK has now become the first K-pop girl group in history ever to top the chart.
Official Charts Company CEO Martin Talbot remarked, “Congratulations to BLACKPINK. Being any kind of chart first is a record which can never be taken away, so for their new album ‘BORN PINK’ to become the first UK Official Number 1 by a K-pop girl group is a fantastic achievement—and puts them in the record books forever!”
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK’s new title track “Shut Down” entered the Official Singles Chart at No. 24, while their B-side “Typa Girl” debuted on the chart at No. 93.
Congratulations to BLACKPINK on making K-pop history!
