Starship Entertainment Threatens Legal Action To Protect Its Artists + Shares Update On Current Trial
Starship Entertainment has issued a firm warning against malicious posts and false rumors about their artists.
On September 22, Starship Entertainment released a statement threatening to take legal action against future attacks on their artists—and providing an update on a current trial.
The agency’s full statement is as follows:
Hello, this is Starship Entertainment.
We are informing you that we will take strong legal action in response to the malicious libel, spreading of falsehoods, personal attacks, defamation of character, and malicious comments related to our artists that are currently being spread online and on social media.
We are currently in the process of suing chronic offenders who regularly post malicious comments, and the prosecution has demanded a six-month sentence, employment restrictions, and registration on the official sex offenders website. At present, we are awaiting the final sentencing.
We plan to continuously take all legal measures possible against any future defamation of our artists or additional cases of damage, without any settlements.
Additionally, we will be working together with ChildFund Korea, which was established to prevent cyberbullying and to help heal victims, in order to actively spread a culture of non-violence.
As the reports and evidence that fans have been sending us have been a huge help in our legal preparations and responses, we ask that you continue to send us reports.
Thank you.
