Watch: Kim Hye Soo's Uncooperative Sons Frustrate Her To No End In "The Queen's Umbrella" Teaser

Kim Hye Soo’s sons are the root of all her stress in “The Queen’s Umbrella”!

tvN’s “The Queen’s Umbrella” is a new historical drama that centers on the special palace education system of the Joseon Dynasty. The drama will follow the conflict within the palace over trying to make proper princes out of its five troublemaking princes, who cause nothing but headaches for the royal family. Kim Hye Soo will star in the drama as queen Im Hwa Ryung, the wife of a great king and the long-suffering mother of five troublemaking sons.

The newly released teaser draws out just how dedicated queen Im Hwa Ryung is to ensuring the success of her sons as she puts her dignity aside to do anything she can to look after them.

Starting with Im Hwa Ryung looking uncomfortable and angered, she says while gritting her teeth, “Do you know what kind of day it is today…” She rushes in to wake up her youngest son prince Il Young (Park Ha Joon) and instructs him to get ready. She adds a threat, saying, “If not, you’re done, and I’m done.”

In addition to the queen, various concubines and palace ladies prepare their sons for greatness with a new face-washing technique that is expected to improve one’s studies. However, all of the queen’s hard work goes to waste when the princes continue to be uncooperative. Prince Sung Nam (Moon Sang Min) firmly denies her with a straight face while prince Mu Ahn (Yoon Sang Hyun) sweetly asks, “Please help me get married first!”

Despite being incredibly frustrated, queen Im Hwa Ryung powers through. Taking care of herself with all sorts of medicine, the queen starts studying on behalf of her sons as she competitively comments, “If I lose, I can’t sleep.”
