Song Joong Ki, Shin Hyun Been, And Lee Sung Min's Upcoming Drama Confirms Cast And Broadcast Schedule
Song Joong Ki, Shin Hyun Been, and Lee Sung Min’s upcoming drama “Reborn Rich” confirmed details of the cast and broadcasting schedule!
Based on a hit web novel, “Reborn Rich” is a fantasy drama set in the turbulent ’80s about a chaebol family’s secretary Yoon Hyun Woo (Song Joong Ki) who is reborn as the family’s youngest son Jin Do Joon (also played by Song Joong Ki).
Song Joong Ki will play Yoon Hyun Woo, who dies after being framed for embezzlement by the Sunyang Group family that he had remained loyal to. He is reborn as the family’s youngest son Jin Do Joon and works to take over the company as revenge.
Lee Sung Min was previously confirmed for the role of Jin Yang Chul, the head of Sunyang Group. After growing up in poverty, he climbed to the top of the financial world and has become a relentlessly competitive and harsh character with endless greed for money.
Shin Hyun Been will be playing anti-corruption investigation prosecutor Seo Min Young who is from a prestigious legal family. With the nickname of “Sunyang Group’s grim reaper,” Seo Min Young will approach the boundaries of legality if it is for the sake of serving justice.
Furthermore, Yoon Je Moon has been cast as Jin Yang Chul’s oldest son Jin Young Ki, while Kim Jung Nan will play Son Jung Rae, Jin Young Ki’s wife who has the typical chaebol mindset and a careless personality. Jo Han Chul will take on the role of Jin Yang Chul’s second eldest son Jin Dong Ki who is great at using his brain for petty tricks. Seo Jae Hee will play Jin Dong Ki’s wife Yoo Ji Na who is from a distinguished family. Kim Young Jae is confirmed to play Jin Do Joon’s father and Jin Yang Chul’s third son Jin Yoon Ki. Jung Hye Young will transform into former top star and Jin Do Joon’s mother Lee Hae In. Kim Hyun will play Jin Yang Chul’s wife Lee Pil Ok who is one of the founding contributors of the Sunyang Empire.
Kim Shin Rok takes on the role of Jin Yang Chul’s daughter Jin Hwa Young, while Kim Do Hyun will play Jin Hwa Young’s husband Choi Chang Je who is called the “male Cinderella.” Park Hyuk Kwon has been cast as Jin Do Joon’s partner Oh Se Hyun. Kim Nam Hee will play Sunyang Group’s heir Jin Sung Joon, and Park Ji Hyun will take on the role of Mo Hyun Min who has been chosen as his arranged marriage partner. Girls’ Generation’s Tiffany will transform into Rachel, Oh Se Hyun’s right hand.
The production team shared, “‘Reborn Rich’ is a life-reset story of one man who is at death’s door but revives as the youngest son of a chaebol family in 1987. It is a project taking place in a special fantasy world with retro [vibes]. None of the characters are ordinary, and they each have their own greed and narrative. The relationships of these carefully woven characters on top of a time of upheaval will deliver enjoyment [to viewers] that is on another level.”
“Reborn Rich” will air via JTBC in the second half of 2022.
