“Cheer Up” shared new stills ahead of the drama’s premiere!
SBS’s upcoming mystery rom-com “Cheer Up” tells the story of a group of college students that gets wrapped up in a story of passion after joining Theia, their school’s cheering squad that is falling into ruins after leaving behind its glory days. The drama stars Han Ji Hyun, Bae In Hyuk, Kim Hyun Jin, Jang Gyuri, Lee Eun Saem, Lee Jung Joon, Han Soo Ah, Kim Shin Bi, and Hyun Woo Seok as members of Theia.
Han Ji Hyun stars as Do Hae Yi, a rookie member of Yonhee University’s cheer squad Theia, who has a cheerful personality despite facing difficult circumstances at home. Do Hae Yi winds up joining Theia in order to earn a part-timer’s wage of 1 million won (approximately $694). In the process, she experiences love, which she considered to be a luxury. Bae In Hyuk plays Theia’s captain Park Jung Woo who is a stickler for the rules and believes in doing everything by the book. However, he is an upright figure with innocent beliefs about love.
The newly released stills reveal Do Hae Yi and Park Jung Woo’s first meeting, which starts with a misunderstanding. The two meet somewhere on campus while Do Hae Yi is taking a nap on a bench beneath the warm sunlight. When Park Jung Woo discovers this, he begins to cover her with the school newspaper after getting worried that she will catch a cold. However, Do Hae Yi wakes up at that exact moment, and the two make eye contact.
In particular, Do Hae Yi appears shocked by Park Jung Woo’s appearance in his flashy cheer uniform. When Do Hae Yi sends Park Jung Woo a wary gaze, Park Jung Woo gestures with his hands to appeal his innocent intentions and good will. The hilarious first meeting between the two raises anticipation for their upcoming relationship.
The production team shared, “The cheerful Han Ji Hyun will leave a powerful impression on the life of Bae In Hyuk who only knows about cheer squad Theia. They will give each other unforgettable memories of their first meeting. Please look forward to the refreshing first meeting and bickering chemistry of the two who will face an unexpected aftermath.”
