Jung Ji So Dishes On Why She Thinks "Curtain Call" Will Be A Turning Point In Her Career, Working With Kang Ha Neul, And More
Jung Ji So has talked about her upcoming role in “Curtain Call”!
“Curtain Call” is a new drama about an elderly woman from North Korea who doesn’t have much time left to live and a theatre actor who acts as her grandson in order to fulfill her final wish. Kang Ha Neul will star as Yoo Jae Heon, the unknown theatre actor who undertakes a life-changing endeavor, while Ha Ji Won will star as heiress Park Se Yeon, who manages the hotel owned by her family.
Jung Ji So will be appearing in the drama as Seo Yoon Hee, an unknown actress who belongs to Yoo Jae Heon’s theatre troupe and has a crush on him. Although she may seem ordinary on the outside, Seo Yoon Hee is hiding a big secret of her own.
Jung Ji So expanded on her affection for her character, saying, “I think the fact that Seo Yoon Hee thinks of Yoo Jae Heon before herself and has her life revolving around him, yet is satisfied with loving him from afar, makes her character lovely.” She added that Seo Yoon Hee is also a charming character who always stands up to those with power but turns into a softie to people that are in a weaker position than her.
On appearing in the drama alongside veteran actors and actresses, Jung Ji So humbly said, “I want to do well so I won’t harm my excellent seniors’ acting or the flow of the drama.” She also had only nice things to say about working with Kang Ha Neul as she explained that she was especially nervous because the first scene that she shot was with him and how grateful she was when Kang Ha Neul greeted her first with a bright smile. She dished, “I think I was able to adapt to my role of Seo Yoon Hee quicker because he created a comfortable atmosphere from the first day. I am learning a lot from watching his acting.”
Jung Ji So also expressed her determination to show more mature acting than in her previous roles as she said, “Seo Yoon Hee has to show various characters because her situation is special, and it was more difficult compared to my previous roles. I think this will be an opportunity to learn more because I have to do a lot of studying and research to complete the character.”
Lastly, despite appearing in the worldwide hit movie “Parasite” and making her presence known to the world, Jung Ji So said she believed that “Curtain Call” will be a big turning point in her acting career as she explained, “There are many things I learn from my seniors and staff, so I’m looking forward to seeing how much I will have grown by the time filming ends.”
“Curtain Call” is set to air every Monday and Tuesday at 9:50 p.m. KST starting on October 31.
