Watch: Lee Yoo Mi, Jung Woo, And More Diligently Film Scenes With Varying Levels Of Emotion For "Mental Coach Jegal"
The cast of “Mental Coach Jegal” has shown off their cute chemistry in a new making-of video!
tvN’s “Mental Coach Jegal” is about Jegal Gil (Jung Woo), a former Taekwondo national athlete who quits sports after causing a scandal and becomes a mental coach to help both former professional athletes who have retired and current athletes who have fallen into a slump. Lee Yoo Mi stars as Cha Ga Eul, a short-track speed skating gold medalist who has fallen into a slump. After they meet, Jegal Gil and Cha Ga Eul help each other face their inner wounds and reach turning points in their lives in the process.
As Lee Yoo Mi takes over the behind-the-scenes camera, each member of the short-track speed skating team introduces their character and they excitedly look over their new batch of group photos.
After a heated scene between Kwon Yool, Lee Yoo Mi, and Jung Woo, Kwon Yool comments, “I’m upset that I don’t have many scenes with Ga Eul.” Lee Yoo Mi responds, “He’s like this every time we meet.”
Later, Park Se Young films a dramatic scene with Kwon Yool where her character makes a bold transformation. During rehearsals, Park Se Young hesitates while Kwon Yool walks around the room which makes him ask, “Are you supposed to follow me?” Laughing out of embarrassment, Park Se Young responds, “I didn’t know [what to do].” Kwon Yool then jokes, “I thought you were going to hit me from behind.”
The short-track team starts preparing for their intense world cup competition scenes as they practice their finishing stances. They excitedly film their group and individual race wins and celebrate with big South Korean flags.
At night, Lee Yoo Mi and Park Han Sol practice running away from Heo Jung Do. Jung Woo appears on set with his usual funny antics then starts getting jittery as he explains, “[I’m nervous because] It could rain…” Eventually, it does begin to rain which ends filming early, but the cast is still able to film a bunch of serious and emotional scenes.
