MBC's Upcoming Drama Resumes Filming After Mourning The Passing Of Actor Lee Ji Han
MBC’s upcoming drama “Kokdu: Season of Deity” has resumed filming.
On November 7, a source from MBC shared that the production team resumed filming for the drama today and that they are looking for a successor for Lee Ji Han’s role.
“Kokdu: Season of Deity” is a fantasy romance which tells the story of a grim reaper named Kokdu (Kim Jung Hyun) who comes down to this world to punish humans every 99 years. Kokdu meets Han Gye Jeol (Im Soo Hyang), a doctor with mysterious abilities, and starts working as a visiting doctor. Lee Ji Han was filming the role of Jung Yi Deun, the ex-boyfriend of Han Gye Jeol in the drama.
However, with the sudden and sad news of the actor’s passing during the Itaewon tragedy, the production team had put filming on hold and visited his wake to pay tribute. Lee Ji Han’s co-star Im Soo Hyang also lamented, “I am so hurt to let my colleague go first. The team and I will all work even harder for your share while thinking of you so that you can be proud from that place, and I hope you will be at peace now.”
Lee Ji Han, who first entered the spotlight as a contestant on Mnet’s “Produce 101 Season 2” in 2017, made his debut as an actor in the web drama “Today Was Another Nam Hyun Day” in 2019. He was 24 years old (by international reckoning) at the time of his passing.
May all the victims rest in peace.
