Lee Seo Jin Confirmed To Become A Full-Fledged Restaurant Boss In New "Youn's Kitchen" Spin-Off Series
Lee Seo Jin is making a return to the culinary world with a new reality series!
On November 9, tvN confirmed the production of “Seo Jin’s” (working title), a spin-off series of the popular reality show “Youn’s Kitchen” featuring a new restaurant run by Lee Seo Jin who has been promoted from the director of “Youn’s Kitchen” to the boss of the new restaurant.
It was previously revealed that Na Young Suk PD (producing director) of the “Youn’s Kitchen” series will be directing a program about running a restaurant overseas. Past cast members Park Seo Joon, Jung Yu Mi, and Choi Woo Shik are currently in talks to join. Starnews also reported that although Youn Yuh Jung was offered the project, she turned it down due to her busy schedule and her plans to focus on filming for Season 2 of “Pachinko.”
“Seo Jin’s” will take a turn in a new direction from “Youn’s Kitchen.” Whereas the previous reality show focused on bulgogi, bibimbap, and other foods that are famously known to represent Korea, “Seo Jin’s” will shine a light on street food, the “fast food of Korea,” and present viewers with a lighter and more approachable menu.
Furthermore, Lee Seo Jin is also expected to show more of what goes into the role of being a restaurant manager, showing off the skills and knowledge he obtained from his studies in the department of business administration at New York University while giving a realistic glimpse into the management that goes behind such delicious culinary creations.
Starnews reported that Mexico is being brought up as a potential filming location, but a source from CJ ENM remarked, “The cast, filming location, and timing are being coordinated. It is difficult to comment in order to carry out a safe and smooth filming process. We ask for your understanding.”
“Seo Jin’s” will reportedly begin preparations for filming with the goal of airing in the first half of next year.
