SEVENTEEN And Kep1er Win Special Awards At The 64th Japan Record Awards

SEVENTEEN and Kep1er have been honored at this year’s Japan Record Awards!

On November 16 local time, the 64th Japan Record Awards – an annual music awards ceremony widely considered to be the Japanese equivalent to the Grammy Awards – announced their list of winners and nominees.

While some awardees will be announced next month during the award show’s live broadcast, some winners have been announced ahead of time!

For the first time in their careers, SEVENTEEN has been awarded the Special International Music Award, while Kep1er has won a Special Award. Out of the seven recipients of this year’s Special Award, Kep1er is the only K-pop group.

Later this month, SEVENTEEN will kick off their “BE THE SUN” world tour across Japan, starting with shows on November 19 and 20 at Kyocera Dome in Osaka.

This past September, Kep1er solidified their popularity in Japan following the release of their Japanese debut single album “FLY-UP.” After selling over 100,000 copies, “FLY-UP” was quickly certified gold by The Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ).

The awards ceremony will be held on December 30 and air via Japanese broadcasting station TBS.

Congratulations to SEVENTEEN and Kep1er!
