Cha Tae Hyun Transforms Into An Altruistic Detective In Upcoming Brain Science Comedy Drama
KBS has dropped the first look at Cha Tae Hyun as a detective in his new drama!
KBS 2TV’s upcoming Monday-Tuesday drama “Brain Cooperation” is a brain science comedy investigation drama about two men who desperately want to kill each other as they collaborate to solve a crime case involving a rare brain disease. The drama will deliver laughter and touching messages as neuroscientist Shin Ha Ru (CNBLUE’s Jung Yong Hwa), who possesses a very special brain, works together with detective Geum Myung Se, who has a pushover brain, showcasing explosive chemistry in the process.
In the drama, Cha Tae Hyun will star as veteran detective Geum Myung Se, who is kind and considerate with an altruistic brain. Even if it’s a loss for him, Geum Myung Se is fatally kind and always busy taking care of others. No matter the situation, he never loses his warmth towards others and always maintains his level-headed attitude. Even if a suspect makes him angry and annoyed, he’s unable to ignore the pity he feels for them and still takes on all the dirty work.
An especially intriguing point about Cha Tae Hyun’s upcoming role is that it’s his third as a detective, following his success with “Team Bulldog: Off-Duty Investigation” and “Police University.”
The new stills of Cha Tae Hyun capture how perfectly he’s immersed into Geum Myung Se’s serious yet relaxed attitude. In the investigation room, Geum Myung Se stares someone down as he interrogates them. While outside, Geum Myung Se focuses on someone suspicious in the distance, looking displeased and doubtful.
Regarding his character, Cha Tae Hyun remarked, “He’s so kind. I wonder whether there’s another character who’s as altruistic as Geum Myung Se. He’s someone who has a character that isn’t too common in this world. He’s a character with various charms aside from his personality so if you watch ‘Brain Cooperation,’ viewers will be able to feel what kind of charms Geum Myung Se has in a more fun and detailed way.”
The actor continued, “Since it’s my first comedy role in awhile, I thought I’d be able to enjoy myself and do well. Although it deals with brain science, I liked the easy and fun script so as long as I act faithfully to the script, I think I’ll be able to showcase my character well.”
Production company Samhwa Networks commented, “It’s an infinite honor to work with acting master Cha Tae Hyun and ‘Brain Cooperation.’ All throughout filming, we are experiencing the phrase, ‘this is why they say ‘Cha Tae Hyun!’ Please look forward to altruistic detective Geum Myung Se that trustworthy actor Cha Tae Hyun will create.”
“Brain Cooperation” will premiere on January 2, 2023.
