BLACKPINK Makes YouTube History As "Kill This Love" Hits 1.7 Billion Views
BLACKPINK has just achieved an impressive feat on YouTube!
According to YG Entertainment, BLACKPINK’s music video for their 2019 smash hit “Kill This Love” surpassed 1.7 billion views on YouTube on November 25 at approximately 2:53 p.m. KST.
“Kill This Love” has now become only the second K-pop group music video in history to reach the milestone—with the first being BLACKPINK’s own “DDU-DU DDU-DU.”
It is also only the third K-pop music video to hit the 1.7 billion mark overall, following PSY’s “Gangnam Style” and BLACKPINK’s “DDU-DU DDU-DU.”
As a result, on top of being the first—and so far, only—K-pop group to have surpassed 1.7 billion views with a music video, BLACKPINK is now also the first Korean artist ever to reach the milestone with more than one music video.
“Kill This Love” was originally released on April 5, 2019 at midnight KST, meaning that it took the video just over 3 years, 7 months, and 20 days to hit 1.7 billion views.
Congratulations to BLACKPINK on their historic achievement!
