Kim Young Dae Goes From Imposing King To Warm-Hearted Friend In "The Forbidden Marriage"
“The Forbidden Marriage” has released new stills of Kim Young Dae to get viewers excited for the drama’s premiere!
Based on the web novel of the same name, “The Forbidden Marriage” is a new drama starring Kim Young Dae as King Yi Heon, who falls deep into despair after the death of his wife and ends up prohibiting marriage in his kingdom. Seven years after the loss of his wife (played by IZ*ONE‘s Kim Min Ju), who was then the crown princess, he comes across a con artist named So Rang (Park Ju Hyun), who claims that she can be possessed by the late princess’s spirit.
In the upcoming drama, Kim Young Dae’s character King Yi Heon is a hopeless romantic who would do anything for the woman he loves. After struggling with his grief for many years after his wife’s passing, he undergoes an unexpected change after he crosses paths with the underground matchmaker So Rang, who says that she can show him the late princess’s spirit.
In the newest stills, Yi Heon wears many different faces. Not only is he a powerful king who is leading his country, but he is also a widower who is still in the depths of grief after Crown Princess Ahn (Kim Min Ju)’s passing. He then shows another completely different side as he comes into contact with So Rang and Lee Shin Won (Kim Woo Seok), with whom he shares a fun and delightful kind of chemistry.
Yi Heon’s expressions go from hard and steely as he sits upon the king’s throne to soft and warm as he walks about town. In the photos, he shows off a side that is much more human than his image as an untouchable and all-powerful king, amping up viewers’ excitement to see just what Yi Heon will do and who he will become in “The Forbidden Marriage.”
“The Forbidden Marriage” premieres on December 9 at 9:50 p.m. KST and will be available on Viki.
In the meantime, check out a teaser for the drama with English subtitles below!
