BLACKPINK Makes Billboard's "The 100 Best Songs Of 2022" List
BLACKPINK has made Billboard’s list of “The 100 Best Songs of 2022”!
On December 7 local time, Billboard released their staff list of “The 100 Best Songs of 2022” where BLACKPINK is the only Korean artist to be featured. The list highlights staff picks of their favorite 2022 songs, which includes songs that were released this year or that peaked on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2022.
BLACKPINK’s “Shut Down” makes the list at No. 91, with Glenn Rowley writing, “BLACKPINK may have kicked off their sophomore album ‘BORN PINK’ with a taste of ‘Pink Venom,’ but the K-pop girl group elevates their latest era to even greater heights with the swagger and savvy of second single ‘Shut Down.’ Melding bouncing hip hop with a sample of Niccolò Paganini’s 1826 violin concerto ‘La Campanella’ proves ingenious as Rosé, Jisoo, Lisa and Jennie assert their status as the biggest girl group in the world. Now catch ’em when you hear their Lamborghini go vroom, vroom, vroom, vroom…”
Over the past week, BLACKPINK has been highlighted by Rolling Stone, Billboard, TikTok, YouTube, and Spotify for the success of “BORN PINK” and its singles “Pink Venom” and Shut Down.” BLACKPINK was also recently named TIME Magazine’s Entertainer of the Year, becoming the first girl group in history to earn this title.
Congratulations to BLACKPINK!
