Former SM Rookie Lami To Debut As An Actress

Lami of SM Rookies is finally making her debut!

Nearly a decade ago, back in 2013, Lami was officially revealed to the public as a trainee in SM Entertainment’s pre-debut group SM Rookies alongside Red Velvet‘s Irene and NCT‘s Jaehyun, who had not yet debuted at the time. Lami was only 10 years old (by international reckoning) at the time.

After making a brief appearance at the beginning of Red Velvet’s debut music video for “Happiness,” Lami appeared on Disney Channel Korea’s “The Mickey Mouse Club” in 2015 alongside fellow SM Rookies Mark, Jeno, Jaemin, Haechan, and Jisung, all of whom eventually went on to debut in NCT DREAM.

As Lami has not been an active member of SM Rookies since 2016, many fans have wondered about her whereabouts and what she’s been up to in the years since.

On December 9, SM Entertainment officially confirmed that Lami, who is now 19 years old (by international reckoning), would be debuting as an actress under the agency.

“It’s true that Lami will be debuting as an SM actress,” said the agency.

Before joining SM Rookies in 2013, Lami appeared in several dramas as a child actress, playing the younger counterparts of stars like Lee Ji Ah and Jin Se Yeon.
