PUMA Korea Apologizes For Accident On Set Of NCT 127's Commercial Shoot

PUMA Korea has released an official apology regarding the accident that occurred during NCT 127’s commercial shoot.

On December 9, SM Entertainment revealed that while NCT 127 was filming an advertisement earlier that day, a jungle gym structure that was part of the set had unexpectedly collapsed. Four members sustained minor injuries in the accident: Johnny, Jaehyun, and Jungwoo, who immediately went to the hospital to be examined; and Taeil, who chose to go home to rest instead.

Fortunately, after undergoing examinations at the hospital, Johnny, Jaehyun, and Jungwoo were found to have no major injuries aside from minor bruises. However, for the sake of the members’ health, NCT 127’s pre-recording for SM Entertainment’s “2023 SMTOWN LIVE : SMCU PALACE @KWANGYA” concert has been postponed, and Jungwoo will also not be appearing on MBC’s “Music Core” as an MC this week.

Following the accident, PUMA Korea released the following statement:

PUMA Korea’s statement regarding the accident that took place during NCT 127’s commercial shoot is as follows.

NCT 127 is currently PUMA’s APAC ambassador, and during their commercial shoot on December 9, members Johnny, Jaehyun, Jungwoo, and Taeil suffered an accident due to an issue with a structure on the filming set.

Immediately after the accident, members Johnny, Jaehyun, and Jungwoo were quickly taken to a nearby hospital, where they are undergoing a thorough examination. As soon as detailed results become available, they will be announced through [NCT’s] agency SM Entertainment as quickly as possible.

Fortunately, Taeil only suffered minor injuries, and we respected his personal decision to return home and rest.

PUMA Korea feels a strong sense of responsibility regarding this accident, and we plan to do our utmost to identify the cause and prevent it from reoccurring.

We apologize to the fans, who must have been startled by the news that their beloved artist was in an accident, and to [NCT’s] agency SM Entertainment for giving them cause for concern.

Furthermore, PUMA Korea will do its utmost for the treatment and speedy recovery of NCT 127 members Johnny, Jaehyun, and Jungwoo, who were injured in this accident, and we will help them recover as quickly as possible.
