Lee Seung Gi To Host New Audition Show For Idols Who Have Already Debuted
Lee Seung Gi will be returning to the small screen as the MC of a brand-new idol audition show!
On December 12, JTBC officially announced that Lee Seung Gi would be hosting its new program “Peak Time,” which will premiere in 2023. The show will be produced by the same team that created the hit singing competition “Sing Again,” which was also hosted by Lee Seung Gi for both of its seasons.
Unlike past idol audition shows, “Peak Time” will be a team competition, with teams battling for the chance to become the next “worldwide idol group.” Its contestants will consist of male idols who have already debuted, whether currently active or part of a disbanded group.
Mentioning Lee Seung Gi’s longtime experience as a singer, the producers of “Peak Time” remarked, “Lee Seung Gi has not only a strong ability to empathize and witty hosting skills, but also outstanding musicality. He will be able to express the feelings of the contestants.” They went on to add, “You can safely look forward to his chemistry with the contestants.”
Notably, “Peak Time” will mark Lee Seung Gi’s first gig since his public dispute with his longtime agency Hook Entertainment, whose CEO recently apologized following the revelation that the star had never been paid any of the profits from his digital music revenue.
“Peak Time” is currently slated to premiere in the first half of 2023.
