SBS’s upcoming drama “Payback” has dropped its first teaser!
“Payback” tells the thrilling revenge story of those who risk everything to fight a money cartel that has colluded with the law. The drama will give viewers both thrills and catharsis through its portrayal of those who refuse to remain silent and fight against incompetent and unjust authority in their own way.
The clip kicks off with Eun Yong (Lee Sun Gyun) being transported in a shabby suit while tied up. Then, the clip shows a glimpse of Eun Yong’s extraordinary past where he storms into a construction site wearing an armband and fights wildly.
A former prosecutor, Army Major Park Joon Kyung (Moon Chae Won) also appears in the teaser. While walking vigorously in the rain, Park Joon Kyung roars at someone, “Do you think you can save my mother? You don’t know how I lost her!” making viewers sympathize with her grief. At the same time, Eun Yong in a prison uniform makes a determined expression from solitary confinement. The text that appears on the screen reads, “An exhilarating revenge battle against unjust power begins!” raising viewers’ anticipation for the drama.

The production team remarked, “We wanted to capture the huge scale of our drama that encompasses its own time and space as well as a solid story in an impactful way. Please look forward to the remaining teaser videos that will be released sequentially following the first teaser as well as the premiere episode which will air on January 6.”
“Payback” will premiere on January 6 at 10 p.m. KST.
