Lee Seung Gi Signs With His One-Man Agency Following Conflict With Hook Entertainment
Lee Seung Gi is off to a new start with a new agency!
Following a legal dispute with his longtime agency Hook Entertainment, Lee Seung Gi has newly signed with Human Made, the one-man agency he established last summer.
On December 29, Human Made released the following statement to announce Lee Seung Gi’s fresh start:
Hello, this is Human Made.
Artist Lee Seung Gi has decided to continue his future promotions at the one-man company Human Made. We are sincerely happy to be able to relay the news of his new start.
For artist Lee Seung Gi’s new start, Human Made will give our full support.
Additionally, we’d like to announce that [Lee Seung Gi] shared his meaningful love with the Seoul National University Children’s Hospital today for the healthy future of children.
Just like the mission of ‘For Human, By Human,’ Human Made and artist Lee Seung Gi promise everyone good work.
Thank you.
Last May, Lee Seung Gi parted ways with Hook Entertainment after 17 years to establish his own company. The following month, Lee Seung Gi’s one-man agency Human Made partnered with Hook Entertainment, with the artist signing a management contract with his former agency.
Last month, it was revealed that Lee Seung Gi had sent a certification of contents to his longtime agency Hook Entertainment asking for transparent disclosure of his earnings. Dispatch then published a report alleging that Lee Seung Gi had never received any of his digital music profits from the agency, which Hook Entertainment initially denied.
However, after Lee Seung Gi’s legal representative released an additional statement refuting Hook Entertainment’s claims, the CEO of the agency ultimately apologized and announced that she would take full responsibility. On December 1, Lee Seung Gi forwarded a notice to terminate his contract with Hook Entertainment, and on December 16, the agency claimed that the company has now paid Lee Seung Gi all of his unpaid earnings, which the artist shared he would donate. Most recently, Lee Seung Gi sued the CEO and directors and Hook Entertainment for embezzlement and fraud.
