Watch: WINNER, BLACKPINK, Leejung, And More Introduce YG's New Girl Group BABYMONSTER

YG Entertainment has officially introduced their new girl group BABYMONSTER!

On December 30 at 3 p.m. KST, the agency released a “YG NEXT MOVEMENT” poster to tease their upcoming girl group. On the poster were the seven silhouettes of the members and the date January 1, 2023.

As promised, on January 1 at midnight KST, YG opened an official YouTube channel for BABYMONSTER and dropped their first teaser titled “YG NEXT MOVEMENT.”

The clip shares glimpses of the upcoming girl group practicing, while their YG Entertainment labelmates WINNER, BLACKPINK, and AKMU shower them with praise. YG’s founder and general producer Yang Hyun Suk introduces them by saying, “You can think of them as a baby who has the YG genes.”

WINNER’s Lee Seung Hoon raves about the outstanding members whose their skills could not possibly be any better while AKMU’s Lee Suhyun adds, “They were so good at the expressions and gestures that enchant others.” WINNER’s Kang Seung Yoon expresses his surprise that the group has so many members that are so good and AKMU’s Lee Chan Hyuk explains that BABYMONSTER is a singer that is hard to come across in Korea.

Dance trainer Leejung of crew YGX comments, “Their greatest strength is that you can really see their determination in their gaze.” BLACKPINK’s Lisa shares, “All seven members suit each other well.” Jennie chimes in, “I think they’re very good overall.”

Yang Hyun Suk adds, “Just as they’ve shocked me in their monthly evaluations over the past four years, I have a hope that they will become stars who shock the world. I hope you evaluate them just as you see and hear.”
