IU Makes Generous New Year Donation To Support Heating Supplies For Low-Income Families
IU rings in the new year with a thoughtful donation!
On January 2, Yangpyeong County in Gyeonggi Province shared that singer-and-actress IU donated 10 million won (approximately $7,850) to collect coal briquettes for the low-income and underprivileged in the area.
The Love Briquette Collecting Campaign is a project that provides briquettes, heating oil, and heating supplies to low-income families who are struggling to pay for heating costs, such as purchasing briquettes in the winter.
Yangpyeong is known as the area where IU’s family resides. Since 2020, IU has continued to make donations that support living expenses for grandparents and single-parent families and heating costs for low-income families in Yangpyeong County.
Yangpyeong County Mayor Jeon Jin Seon remarked, “I am grateful to IU for her constant donations to Yangpyeong County. The donations will be used for heating support [to create a] warm winter for the energy-vulnerable class.”
