Don Spike Sentenced To Probation At 1st Trial For Drug Case

Producer and singer Don Spike has been sentenced to probation for possessing and using drugs.

On the morning of January 9, the sentencing for the first trial was held at the Seoul Northern District Court regarding Don Spike’s alleged violation of the Act on Aggravated Punishment for Specific Crimes. The court sentenced Don Spike to three years in prison suspended for five years of probation.

Earlier in December 2022, the prosecution sought five years in prison along with 200 hours of rehabilitation treatment and an order to collect about 39.85 million won (approximately $30,900) in the trial for Don Spike.

Don Spike was arrested at a hotel in Gangnam district in Seoul in September 2022 on the charges of violating the Drugs Control Act. At the time of arrest, he was carrying 30 grams of methamphetamine, which is about 1000 servings, estimated to be worth 100 million won (approximately $69,300). Don Spike tested positive for drugs in a simple reagent test, and along with him, the owner of the adult entertainment shop, who was suspected of taking drugs, was arrested.

After he was arrested, Don Spike was indicted in October 2022 and is currently imprisoned at the Seoul Dongbu Detention Center.
