WINNER's Kim Jin Woo Confirmed To Join Kim So Hye And Lee Sang Yeob's New Drama

WINNER’s Kim Jin Woo will be starring in a new sports drama!

On January 10, YG Entertainment confirmed that Kim Jin Woo will appear in KBS2’s upcoming drama “Pure Boxer” (literal title).

“Pure Boxer” is a sports drama based on the novel “Pure Boxer Lee Kwon Sook” written by Choo Jong Nam, the winner of the second Kyobo Bookstore Story Contest. It is a story about genius boxer Lee Kwon Sook and a cold-blooded agent who doesn’t feel guilty of match-fixing for money and the success of his athletes.

Previously in October 2022, Lee Sang Yeob and Kim So Hye were confirmed to play the roles of Kim Tae Young, an S&P Sports agent, and Lee Kwon Sook, a genius boxer who disappeared right before achieving the Grand Slam, respectively.

Kim Jin Woo will take on the role of Han Jae Min, Lee Kwon Sook’s first love and the vice principal of a preschool.

Kim Jin Woo remarked, “I am honored and excited to work together with ‘Pure Boxer.’ I will do my best to impress through this drama.”

“Pure Boxer” is scheduled to premiere in the first half of 2023. Stay tuned for more updates!
