Fan Platform UNIVERSE To Shut Down Service + To Reportedly Be Acquired By bubble Company DearU
Fan platform UNIVERSE is shutting down its service.
On January 11, UNIVERSE announced the news with an official announcement.
The notice reads as follows:
We are sending a final greeting to everyone who has loved UNIVERSE for about two years since the service’s launch on January 28, 2021.
Due to UNIVERSE service provider NCSOFT’s decision to transfer business, UNIVERSE will terminate service as of February 17, 2023.
We express sincere gratitude to the artists who have joined us and the members who have given love [to the service]. Please check the notice within the application for details on the service termination schedule.

According to industry representatives, UNIVERSE is being acquired by DearU, the company that runs the fan platform bubble. DearU currently services 121 artists from 63 entertainment agencies including SM Entertainment and JYP Entertainment, who each own 31.98 percent and 18.53 percent shares of the company, respectively. With the acquisition, DearU will reportedly expand bubble’s service further.
