New year, new underrated playlist from the year before. While the entire industry is gearing up to make new debuts and comebacks in 2023, we are still not over some of the amazing but forgotten music from 2022. And while I’d love to mention everything, there is only so much that can feature in one article.

In case you missed it, here are some underrated songs from the second half of 2022 you must have on your playlist. Ready? Let’s go!

H1-KEY – “RUN”

When was the last time you listened to a feel-good song by a lively girl group? Well, H1-KEY dropped this gem about six months ago. The colorful vibes of the song alone should get you to give it a listen. Add to that the fun dance routine and the seemingly addictive chorus, not having “RUN” on your playlist is almost a crime against all things entertaining!

CIX – “458”

Picking things up a notch, this dark but haunting track by CIX is one for the books. Singing about pain, desire, and obsession, the lyrics definitely keep you on your toes, and the members serve quite the delivery with their hypnotizing vocals. If you missed this one, now you know it!

Xdinary Heroes – “Strawberry Cake”

Band music hits differently, doesn’t it? In this sweet rendition, the group completely debunks the beauty of fairytales and everything allegedly labeled happy. The dark twist is quite the eye-opener, but perhaps the performance itself is what sends shivers down one’s spine as the members go from one verse to another.

HEEO – “Destiny or Challenge”

HEEO takes us on a game of seduction in this compelling song. The soloist shows off her charm, her voice, and her moves on a loop while she sings of a flirtatious situation with her crush.

APR PROJECT Feat. Hohyun – “Scene”

Talk about a fresh K-pop sound that sends us to classic K-pop from the early generations. APR PROJECT is an upcoming boy group called BXB (Boy By Brush) which is going to make their debut by the end of January. Joined by R&B soloist Hohyun, they released a collab that should be the talk of town.

from20 – “Chemical”

If from20 is not on your radar, this is your sign. The lyrics are like a lullaby for the broken-hearted, and his voice is soothing. And that earworm of a chorus? Our singer-songwriter definitely knows what he’s doing.

PENTAGON’s Kino – “POSE”

You mean to tell me that this entire masterpiece served by Kino as his solo debut has been around since August and I just heard of it? Everything looks meticulously studied and rehearsed from the moves to the eloquence of his performance. Simply marvelous!
