NewJeans Becomes 3rd And Fastest K-Pop Group In Billboard History To Chart 2 Songs Simultaneously In Top 10 Of Global 200
NewJeans has just achieved an impressive feat on the Billboard Global 200!
Last week, NewJeans’ “Ditto” became their first song ever to enter the top 10 of Billboard’s Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts, which rank songs based on streaming and sales activity gathered from over 200 territories around the world. (While both charts measure songs’ global popularity, the Global Excl. U.S. chart specifically excludes data from the United States.)
On January 17 local time, Billboard revealed that not only had “Ditto” remained in the top 10 of both charts for a second consecutive week, but NewJeans’ latest title track “OMG” had also joined it.
For the week ending on January 21, NewJeans’ “OMG” jumped to No. 7 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart and No. 10 on the Global 200, while “Ditto” stayed strong at No. 5 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart and No. 9 on the Global 200.
Notably, NewJeans is only the third K-pop group ever to chart two songs simultaneously in the top 10 of the Global 200, following BTS and BLACKPINK—and as they are less than six months into their career, they are also the fastest to achieve the feat.
