Kim Jung Hyun And Im Soo Hyang's Romantic Chemistry Is Sweet And Salty In "Kokdu: Season Of Deity"
Excitement for “Kokdu: Season of Deity” continues to ramp up ahead of the drama’s premiere!
MBC’s “Kokdu: Season of Deity” is a new fantasy romance which tells the story of a grim reaper named Kokdu (Kim Jung Hyun) who comes down to this world to punish humans every 99 years. When Kokdu meets Han Gye Jeol (Im Soo Hyang), a doctor with mysterious abilities, he starts working as a visiting doctor.
Ever since it was announced that Kim Jung Hyun and Im Soo Hyang would be taking on the lead roles of Kokdu and Han Gye Jeol, anticipation and excitement for this drama have been through the roof. Viewers should expect passion-filled performances and a romance between the two characters unlike any other.
Kim Jung Hyun described the couple as “sweet and fierce,” saying, “They bicker so much that there’s at least one shot of the two characters arguing in every scene. But there’s a warmth and sadness that coexist in their hearts when they look at each other.” He was sure to add, “I hope you enjoy watching this change in temperature that comes in the scenes where Kokdu and Han Gye Jeol meet.”
Im Soo Hyang said, “If I had to pick a key phrase to describe Kokdu and Han Gye Jeol’s romantic chemistry, it would be ‘sweet and salty.’ It’s because they fight, then fall in love, and then they bicker again, showing a chemistry that goes between hot and cold.”
The newest stills show Kokdu and Han Gye Jeol standing together on the beach, the two appearing to be exchanging a handshake. Han Gye Jeol gives Kokdu a sunny smile with a bit of mischief mixed in, while the grim reaper looks rather disgruntled, giving the other a wary look.
Their ways of existing and their entire personalities are polar opposites, but Kokdu and Han Gye Jeol continue to share the same story that started in a distant past.
“Kokdu: Season of Deity” premieres on January 27 at 9:50 p.m. KST and will be available on Viki.
