TWICE, BTS, SEVENTEEN, And BoA Earn Platinum And Gold RIAJ Certifications For Streaming In Japan
The Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) has announced its latest batch of official certifications!
In 2020, the RIAJ implemented a new certification system for online streaming of songs, as an addition to its pre-existing certification systems for physical album shipments and digital download sales. According to the new system, songs are certified silver once they reach 30 million streams, gold at 50 million streams, and platinum at 100 million streams.
In the RIAJ’s newly announced batch of certifications, TWICE, BTS, SEVENTEEN, and BoA all received official platinum certifications for streaming.
Both TWICE’s “MORE & MORE” and BTS’s “IDOL” were certified platinum after surpassing 100 million streams each in Japan.
BTS also earned new gold certifications for their songs “Make It Right” and “Go Go,” each of which surpassed 50 million streams in Japan.
Finally, SEVENTEEN’s “VERY NICE” and BoA’s holiday ballad “Meri Kuri” were both officially certified gold after reaching 50 million streams each.
Congratulations to TWICE, BTS, SEVENTEEN, and BoA!
