TXT Scores First No. 1 On Billboard 200 With Biggest U.S. Sales Week Since Taylor Swift's "Midnights"
TXT has shot to the top of the Billboard charts with their latest album!
On February 5 local time, Billboard announced that TXT’s new mini album “The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION” had debuted at No. 1 on its famous Top 200 Albums chart, which ranks the most popular albums in the United States.
“The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION” also achieved the biggest U.S. sales week of any album since Taylor Swift’s “Midnights” debuted at No. 1 on the chart last November.
According to Luminate (formerly Nielsen Music), “The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION” earned a total of 161,500 equivalent album units during the week ending on February 2. The album’s total score consisted of 152,000 traditional album sales and 9,000 streaming equivalent album (SEA) units, which translates to 13.24 million on-demand audio streams over the course of the week. The album also racked up 500 track equivalent album (TEA) units in its first week.
Notably, TXT is only the fifth Korean artist in history ever to top the Billboard 200, following BTS, SuperM, Stray Kids, and BLACKPINK.
They are also only the second K-pop artist ever to chart seven different albums on the Billboard 200 (following BTS). “The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION” is their third Top 5 album, following “The Chaos Chapter: FREEZE” (which peaked at No. 5) and “minisode 2: Thursday’s Child” (which peaked at No. 4), and their seventh entry on the chart overall.
Congratulations to TXT on their amazing achievement!
