BTS, SEVENTEEN, And Stray Kids Make Top 10 Of IFPI's Global Artist Chart For 2022
Three K-pop artists have made IFPI’s latest Global Artist Chart!
On February 22 local time, the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) – a non-profit organization that represents the music recording industry worldwide – shared its annual rankings of last year’s top global artists. This chart measures worldwide consumption across all formats and looks at an artist’s entire body of work, rather than just their releases over the past year.
This year’s chart features three Korean acts, with BTS coming in at No. 2. In 2021, BTS made history as the first Asian act to win the IFPI Global Recording Artist of the Year Award. Last year, the group set a new record after landing the top spot for the second year in a row. BTS’s latest ranking marks their fifth appearance in the top 10 of IFPI’s Global Artist Chart and fourth time in the top two.
