Lee Jong Won Confirmed To Join Honey Lee In New Historical Drama
Lee Jong Won will be starring in a new historical drama together with Honey Lee!
On February 23, it was confirmed that Lee Jong Won will be starring in the new MBC drama “Flower That Blooms at Night” (literal title). Earlier on February 21, Honey Lee was also confirmed to take on the female lead role.
“Flower That Blooms at Night” is a comedy investigative sageuk (historical drama) that depicts the double life of a widow. The upcoming drama is the newest project by PD (producing director) Jang Tae Yoo of “My Love from the Star,” “Tree With Deep Roots,” and “Lovers of the Red Sky.”
Lee Jong Won will play the role of Park Soo Ho, a subordinate officer of geumwiyoung (one of the five military camps in the Joseon Dynasty). Park Soo Ho, who is intelligent and has excellent martial arts skills, gets caught up in an unexpected incident after encountering the masked widow Jo Yeo Hwa (Honey Lee), and his life changes drastically.
Last year, Lee Jong Won impressed through the MBC drama “Golden Spoon” and won Rookie of the Year at the 2022 MBC Drama Awards.
