Based on a popular webtoon, JTBC’s “Divorce Attorney Shin” will tell the story of a talented divorce lawyer punnily named Shin Sung Han (the word “shinsunghan” means “sacred” in Korean). The drama stars Cho Seung Woo, Han Hye Jin, Kim Sung Kyun, and Jung Moon Sung.

Previously, these four cast members shared their own highlights that the audience should be on the lookout for. Here are four more key points revealed by the production team:

Friends are forever—even after 40!

The first highlight is the friendship between Shin Sung Han (Cho Seung Woo), Jang Hyung Geun (Kim Sung Kyun), and Jo Jung Sik (Jung Moon Sung). Their stories have been interwoven from their middle school days all the way until now, when they are in their forties. Now, as 42-year-old men, their intimate friendship shines in their everyday lives, and the trio’s chemistry and never-ending witty banter will be something to look forward to.

A whirlwind of divorce cases, including radio DJ Lee Seo Jin’s fall from grace

Another element of the story will be the intense divorce cases Shin Sung Han works on. One is that of radio DJ Lee Seo Jin (Han Hye Jin), whose scandalous case is enough to make Shin Sung Han work fervently and fight passionately on her behalf. His other cases will include one where the husband is a compilation of every worst case scenario possible, as well as another where both parties are deserving of pity. It will also be interesting to watch Shin Sung Han’s meticulous manner in tackling his cases, presenting his arguments, and bringing home wins.

Pianist? Professor? Lawyer? What are you, Shin Sung Han?

Shin Sung Han actually got a late start to his law career at the age of 35. Previously, he was a pianist and music professor. While this history in and of itself is enough to incite curiosity, the audience is also left to wonder why he is particularly interested in taking divorce cases. Of course, the only way to find out what made Shin Sung Han leave his happy life behind and throw himself onto the tough path of law will be to watch “Divorce Attorney Shin”!

Tackling the question of what makes us human

“Divorce Attorney Shin” is a refreshing drama that will showcase the charm of humans being human. Shin Sung Han is an incredibly sensitive artist-turned-lawyer that takes on out-of-this-world crazy divorce cases. Meanwhile, his closest friend Jang Hyung Geun is going through a rough patch with his wife and eventually moves out. On top of that, his new client is a radio star that has fallen from grace after getting wrapped up in a distasteful scandal. However, amidst the chaos, his lasting friendship with his two best friends shines through, and viewers will be able to relate to this story of normal people making it through life’s rough patches regardless of their disadvantages.
