5 Of CL's Designer Looks That Are Iconic
CL is a certified baddie. She fearlessly led 2NE1, one of the most beloved second generation girl groups. A triple threat talented in rapping, singing, and dancing, CL is known for her love of fashion, often collaborating with the hottest up-and-coming brands to the most luxurious haute couture houses. In her music videos she often wears custom wear, from red tulle dresses to conical blue and white fabric hats. Her style is versatile and bold from high femme outfits to streetwear. No matter what she’ll always turn heads. Check out some of CL’s iconic designer looks below!
The Moschino teddy bear dress
2NE1 was one of the first girl groups to be dressed by Moschino, the Italian luxury brand that creates campy fun clothes and accessories. CL in her solo career has also continued to support Jeremy Scott, Moschino’s head designer, wearing delightfully over-the-top outfits. In this particular outfit, CL wears a plain black dress which could be simple on its own, but it’s all to draw attention to the row of teddy bears that circle her entire chest. In a slightly irreverent tone, the teddy bears wear T-shirts that say “This is not a Moschino toy.” It’s perfect for CL, who is never afraid to have fun with fashion.

The bedazzled Jean Paul Gaultier dress
CL wore this beautiful striped off-the-shoulder Jean Paul Gaultier dress for a W Magazine Korea cover. The sequins make her look even more radiant, and the color blocking gives the whole ensemble a nice structure. The black fabric cinching her waist adds a touch of intrigue along with the tied bow coming down in the center of her chest. It is loose but structured. CL knows how to play with contrast in her outfits, creating memorable fashion moments.

The all denim Balenciaga look
CL is a presence at fashion shows, and for good reason. Even when she dons more deceptively simple looks, there’s always more to the story. Denim-on-denim is notoriously hard to pull off, but CL does so looking like the coolest person ever. The jacket and jeans are both oversized and slouchy, with the jeans having a fun little skirt around them. To complete the look CL paired it with some black sunglasses, pointy shoes, and gloves, giving a touch of tough femininity. She truly earns her baddie title here.

The coned Schiaparelli bra
CL shows her whimsical side here as she wears an all black dress with a coned gold-adorned bra. The bra has different versions in black and white and with silver jewels as well. In the full-body photo the dress seems to connect all the way down to the platformed shoes encrusted with golden toes. The gloves with golden tips complete the look, showing that CL’s attention to detail will always pay off.

The Malakai headpiece
For her music video “Hello Bitches” CL wore a black headpiece by the jewelry designer Malakai. The headpiece is encrusted with beads coming down the sides, and it looks futuristic, badass, and feminine all at the same time. It’s a fitting crown for a modern queen like CL. She paired the headpiece off with a full-collar embroidered ensemble once again showing CL’s knack for pairing different textures together. The hard and the soft all combine into one glorious look.
